I have been in Ubud for almost a week now. There are a lot of power outages here, so I am having difficulty using the internet. Downloading pictures takes a long time, so I guess I won't be as diligent at updating this blog as I would have hoped! My sister, Carol arrived from Canada a few days ago and we have had a great reunion! Yesterday we went to the Elephant Safari Park, a beautiful botanical gardens for elephants, many of which have been saved and transported from Sumantra 14 years ago. Carol and I are not into circus type elephant shows, and so we were a bit dubious about going, but I had seen a documentary about Nigel, the Australian guy who started the park, and I knew it had a good philisophy and treated its animals with love and respect.
Carol and I loved the whole experience!
